Artificial Paradises: Botanical Art in the Age of Plastic

From historical floral engravings based on voyages of discovery by William Dampier and James Cook, through still lifes by Ellis Rowan, Estelle Thomson and Lionel Lindsay, to a contemporary installation of artificial leaves by local artist Tiffany Shafron, this exhibition reframes perceptions of botanical art in our plastic age. Featuring works selected from the Gallery’s three permanent collections.
