2010 Young Ambassador Program

The 2010 Young Ambassador Program provides precious opportunity for men and women aged between 18 and 28 to gain personal and professional development through a number of workshops and exposure to events and networks affiliated with the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers and the community.

In 2009, Jess was named 2009 Young Ambassador in front of more than 250 people at an awards presentation cocktail function at the Cube Hotel.

This year, we have 14 entrants. The community committee running the Young Ambassador Program is organising training worth thousands of dollars to enhance the entrants’ careers and individual self-esteem.

Beneficiaries of the fundraising efforts of entrants are the Kath Dickson Centre and Toowoomba Hospice.

Kath Dickson Centre runs multiple programs that assist young people in crisis throughout the Toowoomba region and has is dedicated to empowering young people through skills development for individuals as well as having a focus on whole-of-community well-being.

Toowoomba Hospice has cared for terminally ill people as young as three years old and will be focusing on how it can make young people more comfortable within the six-bed facility.

The Workshop Program is jam packed with personal and professional development. Some of the workshops include:

Workshop Presenter
 Event Management  Garry Humphries MBA
Dealing with the Media  Various media personalities
Networking and Professional Development  June Dally Watkins
