The infectious spirit of the community is undoubtedly the driving force behind Carnival.
Community members can make their own contribution to the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers by participating as a volunteer and helping the hard working Carnival team on a range of projects in the lead up to and during the event.
We are currently seeking expressions of interest from volunteers who may be able to assist as local tour guides for visiting coach companies. Those interested would need to have a good knowledge of Toowoomba attractions and streets as they may be required to direct coach drivers to various locations. Volunteers are also required for various events throughout the 10 days of Carnival. The Ergon Energy Flower, Food and Wine Festival is looking for Toowoomba residents with a sound knowledge of the region. Donating 3 or 4 hours for one day, you will be assisting visitors to our fantastic region find their way around the Festival and provide information on local attractions, parks and gardens.
The Grand Central Floral Parade is undoubtedly the highlight of Carnival. Volunteers for distributing Programs, handing out chalk to children and assisting groups find their way around the closed off streets, will be needed for a few hours on Saturday 18th September 2010. So if you have seen the Parade before and want to look at it form another diverse angle, call the Carnival office today.
