Spring heralds that Carnival is set to blossom and nothing says Spring in Toowoomba like fresh mountain air, temperate days and flowers, flowers, flowers!
The colourful gardens of Toowoomba are on display to one and all as part of The Chronicle Garden Competition proudly sponsored by Heritage Building Society and Toowoomba Regional Council.
Challenging water conditions have not dampened the enthusiasm of the region’s dedicated gardeners. Rather, private garden entrants have created spectacular gardens with tank and bore water as part of this enduring and popular annual event.
Local gardeners take pride in upholding Toowoomba’s “Garden City” image and the impressive floral displays stand testament to their ability to rise to any challenge. Just as the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers has evolved to adapt to changing times, so too have our talented gardeners. Their resulting gardens are testimony to this, and are a Carnival must see!
Purchase The Chronicle newspaper from participating outlets on Friday 17 September or from Toowoomba Visitor Information Centre between Friday 17 and Sunday 26 September to obtain The Chronicle’s Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers Souvenir Guide containing a detailed garden map.
