The 2009 Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers brought a wave of colour to the city and many local businesses participated in the vibrant celebrations.
Businesses were encouraged to enter the Carnival Window Display Competition and relive eras past – where window frontages and window shopping were key to drawing customers in.
A team of judges, under the watchful eye of guest judge Kerrie Cumner from Westridge Florist (Australia Flowers Direct), viewed and marked the entries. They took into account the relevance of the decoration to the Carnival and the 60th Anniversary, how eye-catching the display was and also the creativity and innovation of the entry.
The winners of last year’s Carnival Window Display Competition were:
- 1st – Ideal Electrical
- 2nd – Walsh’s Seeds and Garden Nursery
- 3rd – Cracker Print and Paper
The 2009 program was run by the Toowoomba Chamber of Commerce’s Future Leaders group in conjunction with the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers. Future Leaders was established as a sub-committee of the Chamber to specifically target the city’s business people aged 18 to 35. Its primary objective is to promote, support and network tomorrow’s aspiring business leaders.
CONGRATULATIONS to the winners and well done to all the entrants! Stay tuned for the 2010 information.
